What is chronic pain?
We all get aches and pains from time to time, but sometimes these can continue beyond the natural time of healing.
Chronic pain can be classified as lasting longer than six months, and those suffering are likely to struggle with several everyday issues because of it.
This can lead to a downward spiral of feeling down, struggling to sleep and more, which is no way to live a healthy, happy life.
Evidence suggests that over time, the pain can be amplified by the nervous system, sending waves to the brain that the pain is more excruciating than it is in reality.
That’s where rTMS comes in, with the use of transcranial magnetic stimulation usually helping those who have tried more traditional forms of treatment, such as physiotherapy and medication.
The Walton centre for pain has researched TMS in 200 patients with chronic pain with very good outcomes
The big benefit of rTMS is that it’s safe, non-invasive and is free from medication.
What is chronic insomnia?
Unlike normal insomnia, the chronic version is diagnosed to people who regularly have problems. Symptoms that occur three times per week and persist for at least three months would be considered under this bracket.
If you regularly have difficulty sleeping, a lack of opportunities to sleep and struggle to function in the daytime as normal, then you could be suffering from insomnia.
Insomnia usually tops the list for common medical complaints, and it can be problematic trying to find the right treatments.
Sleeping tablets are either ineffective or a short term fix, but at Expert TMS, our range of treatments will help send positive magnetic pulses to the brain and hopefully reducing the effects of insomnia, ensuring that once and for all, you’ll get the good night’s sleep you’ve been longing for.
